Bountiful Wishes wedding card

Two for the price of one today! My cousin is getting married tomorrow and the wedding and reception are both at a farm. So I thought a woodsy-leafy card would be appropriate and it let me play with my Papertrey Ink Autumn Color Pop kit.

I'm entering this over at Paper Players' sketch challenge. While I followed the sketch very loosely, it's still the base for this. "Bountiful" isn't exactly an image but it is a stack of 4 bountifuls adhered together and put into the spot where one was die cut from the card (not really necessary but oh well.) My "band" of color is also a bit large but I did say it was loose.

Finally! Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember!

Ok. So I've been a bad friend to Simon Says Stamp but I'm trying to at least get done what needs to be done at the last possible second. Last month they posted on FB that the first 50 people to comment would get a free STAMPtember item to work with. The only requirement was to share your work. Well. I squeaked in and they sent me a great stamp set that I really like. The catch is that September got away from me and now it's the last day of STAMPtember. SO. I did it. I banged out a quick card today. While it's not not favorite, it's cute, quick and I also finally tried out my Misti. We had a bit of a bumpy ride today but I think we'll get there.

Thank you SSS!!

Papertrey Ink- Masterpiece Inspiration

So. PTI had a big hoohah this weekend- their yearly Stamp-a-Faire. Unfortunately, due to company and Boy being in a play 3x on Sat. after a 2wk acting camp, it just wasn't a crafty weekend for me. However company is gone, hubby took Boy to a baseball game tonight so I was able to bang out a singular card which is ok. One is better than none. I need a birthday card for a friend's daughter and I thought this would be simple but fun. It's based off the Mondrian Masterpiece Inspiration challenge.

The paper was cut with PTI's Cover Plate: Comic Strip and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. (I'm very light on PTI sentiments as I found out.)

Me with the card for the finale post. :)

Green Beer card

St. Patty's Day isn't huge for us. I do the corned beef and cabbage + Irish soda bread thing because the guys love the food (me... meh) but other than that, it's a day to wear green and move along. However, a close friend is ALL over St. Patty's (her daughter has been doing a fantastic job at Irish Step competitions) so I decided I HAD to make her a card.

5 Minute PTI card

The challenge was to gather things in 5min and use it all. Given that I only had a few minutes, I just grabbed a few things and tried to finish in 5min.

PTI Thank You Card

I love one of the PTI challeges- to create a thank you note to be sent to the PTI warehouse staff. They definitely deserve a thank you as do so many other behind-the-scenes staff groups. I'm going to get this into the mail tomorrow (saying it goes with the ice they're calling for tonight.)

If you're wondering the bizarre, cool glow behind her head is just the way the sun came through the paper there- pretty nifty.

Hubby's Birthday Card

Then of course there's the hubby's bday card. This one I flat out like. We're all into the Marvel superhero movies that have been coming out and DH is SO psyched that we can go catch Deadpool tomorrow night (Yay well-timed TKD Movie Night that will keep the monster entertained for a few hours so we can do our thing!)

I needed a card for him and one of Papertrey Ink's 9th Anniversary challenges was to use nine 1.5" squares on a 5.5x5.5" card front, each decorated differently. Voila!

First Batch of Valentine's Cards

Yep. Still here. It's been a wild ride the past few months. I've done some crafting that I'll post later but between the holidays, my mom passing away from dementia the week before Christmas, a much needed trip to FL, mostly Universal Studios (the Harry Potter areas are simply amazing), testing for my Taekwando black belt, and dealing with an 8yr old who answers "no" to everything and then thinks about it and considers sassing his mom on a constant basis an acceptable pasttime, I haven't been hitting the blog much the past few months. Sorry.

So. Here's this year's batch. Some I like more than others but that's just the way it goes sometimes. I would have liked the one with vellum more if I could have gotten the bloody stuff to go flat!
